Who can enter?

Anyone 18 or under may enter, with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

 

What kind of photos can be entered?

Submit your best original bird, wildlife or nature photographs. Images must be taken in Florida by the person submitting within the last year prior to this contest (March 30, 2017 to March 30, 2018). Submissions should not have been previously published nor have been any level of winner in a previous photo contest. Images shared on social media are okay.

 

*What is the prize?

The winner will receive $250, a plaque, and a corresponding plaque that will hang in the GTM Research Reserve Educational Center.

 

How are photos entered?

Select your original nature photograph and size it properly – no taller or wider than 3000 pixels (10”@300 dpi) We accept black and white and color images. The filename for each image must include the photographer’s name. Do not send printed images. Do not add frames, embellishments or watermarks to the image, they will be disqualified. PLEASE SUBMIT ALL OF YOUR ENTRIES IN ONE FOLDER (or disc) and label the outside of the folder (or disc) with the photographer’s name. Do not submit multiple discs or folders for each image.

 

How much does it cost?

There is a $10 entry fee for the first two (2) entries. Each additional entry costs $5. No more than 5 images may be submitted.

 

Where will the winning photos be displayed?

Photographs will be displayed in the exhibitor hall at the Florida’s Birding & Photo Fest from April 18-22, 2018 via a continuous digital slideshow format.  The winner will be announced at the Keynote Address on Saturday, April 21, 2018.
