Creating Consistently Great Landscape Photographs

What makes a great photograph? Of course, that adjective is sometimes subjective based on the viewers experiences and passions, but having an image with simplicity, a clear subject, balanced composition and storytelling draws the viewer into the photograph. When the viewer is drawn in and lingers, the full impact of the scene unfolds, and you understand what the photographer means and share.

Join host Joe Brady as he takes you on a journey through the preparation and thought process to create great Landscape Photographs. It’s not just about gear (though some of it does help!) but about visualizing the final print hanging on the wall. Size, shape, color, composition and editing are all very important concepts to nail down if you want to get consistently beautiful results!  This talk also includes a few quick demonstrations to fully illustrate the effects of reshaping color, tone and light in your digital captures. Joe will share his approach to creating images that draw you in and how to answer the challenges of light, composition and the limitations of our cameras.

Come learn how to shoot less but shoot better, get great images more often and more consistently, and prepare to share them with the world!

Advanced Photo Edits: Enhancing Landscapes in Lightroom & Photoshop

After Learning the basics, when you understand what you can and should do with both Lightroom & Photoshop will help you capture better images from the start! These demonstrations will start easy, but quickly explore advanced tool usage to shape your image into the best photograph it can be. From adding skies, color and light in Landscapes to lighting fur, moving objects, removing distractions and adding power and sparkle to the eyes. Your goal should be to tell a story about each image and direct the viewer to the most important parts of the subject. These tools are today’s darkroom and since our cameras don’t see the world the way our eyes to, it’s important to understand how these tools can shape our images into the photographs that made us stop and take the picture in the first place.  While we will cover some advanced techniques, everything will be presented in an easy-to-follow and step-by-step method that you can put to use for your own images!

Shaping Wildlife & Bird Portraits to Bring Out Their Full Beauty

As both a Landscape and Portrait Photographer, Joe considers animal and bird portraits as the perfect combination of these two passions. Shaping the light and composition of an animal image shares similarities with people portraits but also presents different challenges. What they both share however is the importance of the eyes, their placement in the scene and the need to draw the viewer to the face while inviting them to linger and explore the environment as well.

Come join Joe as he leads you into an exploration of what can and should be done in post-processing to give your animal portraits the beauty and impact that they deserve.
