What Makes for a Better Composition in Landscape, Wildlife, Nature and Travel Photography?

This presentation is a discussion about the importance of composition in photography. It will explore the choices we make to create images that draw you in and cause you to linger in the the photo - and why. Topics will include what to look for when out in the field, how to see what to include or eliminate in the scene, and how small movements have a big impact on the success of an image.

Processing topics will include deciding on the shape and size of the final print, creative cropping, and shaping techniques to adjust a composition for better balance and flow.

This is a talk suitable for all, even those whose sole camera is their phone. It is about what elements make for better photos in general and mirrors a new book that was just sent in for publication!

How to Get Prints That Look Like the Image You See on your Monitor: Hands-on Printing Workshop

This workshop was scheduled for 2020 and a lot of people have contacted me about finally being able to present this. This should be either a pre- or post-event class, unless the schedule permits it to fit in during normal hours, as I would need three hours to cover all of the material.

We will cover color workflow from capture, to edit, to print and cover all the techniques, gear and details needed to consistently get great color from your prints. This includes how to prepare files to be sent to a lab for printing, as well as printing on your own inkjet printers. Will will have a printer on hand so that we can show the process from beginning to end and create prints during the workshop.
