The 10 Things in Photoshop that You Need to Know!

WED 11 A.M. - 2:30 P.M.

Photoshop is a powerful program for image editing and enhancing, but because of the breadth of its capabilities, it can become overwhelming in its complexities. In reality, there are really only 10 or so things that every photographer should learn that will take their photos to the next level of beauty and impact.

This class will cover the how and why’s of each of these 10 tools and techniques in a simple to follow way so that everyone can put them to use on their own images. You don’t need to know everything Photoshop can do - these ten will do the most important jobs that Photoshop is best at!

Creating Impact in Landscape, Travel & Wildlife Photography

THU 1 P.M. - 2:30 P.M.

Composition, Color and Light all work together to create flow in a photograph. It needs to be clear what we are asking a viewer to look for in our photographs, and if we fail, then the image will be glanced at and then forgotten. Our goal as photographers is to encourage the viewer to look not at, but into our photographs and spend some time to explore and linger in the scene.

While getting the exposure, color and composition right at capture is an important starting point, since our cameras don’t see the way our eyes do, we need to understand how to shape the image, add color and light where needed, and adjust the composition to create an image with impact and direction.

This class will use both Lightroom and Photoshop demonstration specifically designed to help make that happen!

Telling the Whole Story with Panoramic Photographs

THU 3 - 4:30 P.M.

Some scenes simply don’t express the feeling of the place with a standard size image. When you encounter a vast landscape and take it all in, there is no way to capture what you saw with an 8x10 print.

This class will explore the techniques, the gear, and the how-to’s of capturing, combining and editing panoramic images. Using both Lightroom and Photoshop, you will understand how to use the software tools and settings to produce the best panoramic images possible.

Adobe Lightroom is for many photographers, the best place to start - and possibly even finish - your image editing and enhancements. Mastering Adobe Lightroom’s Advanced Capabilities

SAT 10 - 11:30 A.M.

As Adobe Lightroom Classic CC continues to become more powerful, many photographers are finding that most of their image editing can be handled without needing any other programs.

Lightroom’s newest masking panel now makes it much easier to select, isolate and combine masks so that making local adjustments has become incredibly powerful. Once you master these masks and some of the other more advanced tools (such as those found under HSL, Detail, Transform and Effects panels), you will be able to quickly shape your flat, boring raw files into the beautiful images that made you stop and take the picture in the first place!
